Modern Cleopatra
The aforementioned title is what the street snapper, Chekka, gave to this picture. Yup, she took the picture and published it on Fashionese Daily sometimes ago. So, it actually was not what i wear today, but it was some months ago. I know it's kinda late posting but whatever :D

Kiss Her Feet
She really knows how to make a statement...with her shoes! Plain black furry top, plain black bandage skirt, cool but not too overwhelming sunnies and.....BAM! Smokin' hot red shoes. It was said that the shoes were of Jimmy Choo's. I am so falling in love with these shoes. I looked around on online shopping sites to no avail. Oh well...with the price so high it wouldn't be a wise spending anyway....

They Will Fit Right In My Shoe Rack
These are my newest darlings...

Can't wait till these get to my feet. I got them sent to my apartment in NYC and asked my sister to mail them to me in Jakarta. She was like ' you bought them in the US, ask me to send them to you in Jakarta, and in few months you will bring them back to the US. i don't get it.' Well, nothing makes sense in my life, sis. You should have known me by now *grin*....

Black Thursday
We're all wearing black, don't you notice? It's on purpose, but I won't tell you why as it has nothing to do with fashion *grin*. But really, we wear Black every Thursday afternoon, at least from 4 pm - 5 pm. If you want to know why, meet me in front of Monas on Thursday at the time I mention above :D

Lazy Monday
Oh...this city is just unbearably too hot. My mom was out and about and I was just staying home and basically kept myself inside her bedroom. I spent the whole afternoon lazying around while browsing the net. My mom finally home in the mid afternoon and we just spent the rest of the afternoon talking. Late afternoon we went out for her late birthday dinner (oh how bad of a daughter I am, I missed her birthday on March 24th because I was busy with work).
The unfriendly hot weather, the long weekend residue really got me lazy to dress up. I just put on a stripey top and a black taffeta skirt. By the way, I love the skirt, though it's actually a hair shy too big on me. Hence I tightened it up with a belt. I think what makes the whole ensemble looks a bit (just a bit) fashionable is the socks and the wedgies :D

He Disagrees
People, meet AXL, our cute old dog (he's 13 yo). When I was getting my pictures taken, he kept barking. From afar at first but then he came closer and was barking even louder. I think he didn't like what I wear hahaha....
I know I said on my previous post that I didn't think I would post any of my outfits, but turned out my mom was happy to play a photographer with her pocket digital camera. So this is what I wore today to meet up my best friend (we're friends since junior high):

Latex Lame Skirt Meltdown
I am being a slowpoke in updating the blog. Sorry guys, I was out of town. Job related. Though I am now back in Jakarta, but I am leaving out of town again as we speak to visit my mom. Posting my outfit is also out of question right now since I am planning to just have some R&R with my mom at her home (but we'll see). But I have some rants that I've been dying to share. Let me start the first rant of the month. Bare with me...
I have been very busy working for the past week, especially the last days of last week. But I still wasn't going to miss the opening of Nicoline Patricia Malina's Fashion Photography Exhibition on Friday (April 3rd). I had been thinking about what I was gonna wear only by imagining some pieces I have in my wardrobe without even playing dress up ahead of time. Here what I was thinking: my brand new latex lame pencil skirt I grabbed from Forever21, black turtleneck long sleeve tight jersey top, black cropped blazer, black tights and black studded heels. To top it off, a wide red sash worn as bow on the neck. Yes, I was opting for a gothic look.
After running around town the whole morning and half of the afternoon on Friday , I went back home and started to get ready. I had less than an hour to do so. When I put on my brand new latex lame skirt, I freaked out! It was waaaay to big on me....
A month earlier, I eyed the skirt when I went to the store and was instantly smitten. Only two skirts left. One was a Small and the other one was a Large. I took the small one and went to the fitting room. Once I tried it on, I just knew that gotta get it. But I wasn't ready to purchase it as I still wanted to browse the two-level store. I did what I always do, gave the skirt to the cashier and asked her to keep it for me while I look around. Long story short, I went back to cashier and purchased the skirt. Without even double check it. When I got home, I just threw the skirt (still in the yellow bag) into my closet with a plan of wearing it for the event.
Freakin' unfortunately, the skirt that the cashier put in the bag was the LARGE!!!! Not the small one I gave to her. I was mad but couldn't do anything since the store didn't have return/exchange policy. Time was ticking, the opening ceremony was only 20 minutes away (and I needed around 45 minutes to get to the venue). I frantically grabbed whatever I could think of and put it on. But it seemed the domino effects started to kick in. Everything went totally wrong. Couldn't find my lace stockings, couldn't locate my shorts, and so on. And as I was off on the road, the traffic really sent me off the roof (traffic in Jakarta is getting more and more unbearable). I finally got there more than an hour late!
But seeing the photos of NPM's being showcased really eased my pains....:D
Here are some pictures (all are chekka's):

I ended up wearing: Unbranded white shirt || H&M black blazer || H&M shorts || Delia's lace stockings || Custom made studded shoes || Zara Hat || Zara Bag

On the side note, I've decided to give the skirt away to a friend as a gift who I believe would look great in it....
